Aubrey Powell

Aubrey Powell founded the photodesign company Hipgnosis with Storm Thorgerson in the late 1960’s. Together they designed and photographed artworks for such luminaries as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Yes, and Peter Gabriel.

The Hipgnosis images signed by Po in this collection are four classic Led Zeppelin images. These artworks were all collaborations of Po and Storm and are some of the best known pieces that came out of the Hipgnosis stable.

Aubrey Powell now directs and produces documentaries, commercials, and music related films, particularly live concerts. His recent work includes the BBC1 documentary "The Kray Twins", the 50th Anniversary Fender Stratocaster Concert featuring David Gilmour, Joe Walsh, Ronnie Wood and a host of others, and Nelson Mandela’s 2005 46664 concert in South Africa with Queen, Annie Lennox, and Katie Melua.
