Kenny Young, Nick Glennie-Smith and Vic Coppersmith were 3 musicians collectively known as Gentlemen Without Weapons.
The album 'Transmissions', made in 1988 is one of the most unusual albums ever made. Songs about acid rain, endangered species, rain forests and the raising of planet consciousness. Recordings were made in Indonesia and Hawaii and various British wildlife establishments. The songs are further informed by a number of commentaries by wildlife and ecology experts. One track, "Rain Of Terror" has a narrative by John Hurt. Storm Thorgerson's design for the album is suitably thought provoking.
