work to scale against six foot person
Storm Thorgerson’s image for the cover of Muse’s 2004 single 'Butterflies and Hurricanes' is one of a series of twenty prints, each in an edition of twenty known as the 2020 Series. Storm describes for us how he arrived at this image . . .
"Somewhere in chaos theory is expressed the idea that merely the flutter of a butterfly’s wings in one part of the global system can cause dramatic disturbance (hurricanes) in another part of the global system. We took this all rather directly and imagined storm clouds (forgive the pun) gathering and appearing briefly in the shape of large butterflies ... passing unsuspectingly over the summer fields...."
