Like so many great bands the members of Phish met at university. They began in 1983 at the University of Vermont in New England, USA and by 1985 the band consisted of Trey Anastasio, Page McConnell, Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman. The band's music draws from jazz, funk, bluegrass, country, punk and pop and they have a large cult audience throughout America.
