This limited-edition, archival inkjet print features one of the earliest album covers illustrated by Jim Flora. Entitled BIX and TRAM, and released on Columbia Records in 1947, the cover features outlandish caricatures of two legendary bandmates from the 1920s "hot" jazz scene: cornetist Leon "Bix" Beiderbecke (1903-1931) and saxophonist Frankie Trumbauer (1901-1956). Produced in 2012 by Flora archivist Barbara Economon, the print was meticulously and painstakingly crafted from a scan of a vintage printer's proof of the cover held in the Flora family archive. It was published by Flora's estate, using a beautiful heavyweight rag paper by Hahnemühle, and we are very excited to be able to offer it for sale here. Each print is numbered in pencil and authenticated with a publisher's seal on the reverse. We are very chuffed to have been able to secure a small number of these when they first came to market.
