Limited edition of 120
This limited edition archival inkjet print features Hipgnosis album cover images from Elegy (Nice), The Bottom Half (Umphrey's McGee), Car (Peter Gabriel) and Pulse DVD (Pink Floyd) among others. The Back Catalogue concept was born when Storm was asked to design a campaign image to advertise the back catalogue of Pink Floyd and, as he recalled "Our resident black-frocked artiste, Finlay Cowan suggested humorously that we put Pink Floyd covers on the backs of female models. We decided to body paint the covers, rather than projection or compositing, which allows the contours to follow the attractive curves of the female models. In addition they would have course have to be unclothed, thus appealing to the testosterone levels. In order to display their backs more gracefully, they needed to sit somewhere, and the edge of a swimming pool seemed very natural." Storm revisits the Back Catalogue concept here, shooting the Deluxe version at the Pall Mall clubhouse of the RAC Club - a private members' social and automotive club steeped in history and tradition. The original Pink Floyd Back Catalogue edition has now completely sold out on the primary market. Subsequent images in this mini-genre, such as Deluxe Back Catalogue, have also proven very popular with Storm collectors. Printed on a weighty Somerset tub paper by Coriander Studios, London.
