Album cover artists at the 10th Henley Literary Festival
On Sunday October 2nd two of the album cover genre's most celebrated artists will be appearing at the Henley Literary Festival at 5pm in the Town Hall.
Aubrey (Po) Powell, co-founder along with Storm Thorgerson of the photodesign studio Hipgnosis, will be discussing his book, Hipgnosis Portraits, with Richard Evans, graphic designer and art director for The Who who worked with Po and Storm at Hipgnosis and is the author of The Art of the Album Cover.
“Two masters of their craft come to the Festival in association with Henley’s Hypergallery.”
Founded in 2007, the Henley Literary Festival has firmly established itself as one of the UK’s most popular literary festivals, bringing together punters and pundits from far and wide in an annual meeting-of-minds set across its stunning riverside hometown.
The 2016 Henley Literary Festival will be host a bumper line-up of talks, Q&As, performances and workshops to mark its 10th year and we are proud to be linked with such a special festival on its anniversary year.
The two artists will be sharing anecdotes from the time they spent at the epicentre of the rock and roll tornedo of the late 1960s and 1970s.
After the event, Hypergallery will host a book signing and exhibition of the artists' works in their print room, just across from the Town Hall. You’ll be able to meet them, have a drink or two and view the exhibition.
(If you’re going to the Wilko Johnson event that evening, you’ve got time to fit in a visit to Hypergallery before heading over!)
