This signed limited edition silkscreen print by Sir Peter Blake was published in 2010 and features the album cover artwork from Brian Wilson's seventh solo album, Gettin' In Over My Head. Sir Peter Blake is one of Britain's best loved artists and the man known as The Godfather of British Pop Art. His love of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys, first on show in his 1964 screen print of the band, is clear to see in this artwork, which draws on each of the tracks on the album. The hand-written name of each track on Gettin' In Over My Head is positioned by the imagery chosen to illustrate it; the words written by Wilson given prominence on the album's cover, lest we forget what is contained within. Brian Wilson himself features heavily, too, in a stage-like vision of 1950s America. This is classic Peter Blake, with the combination of found graphic shapes and colours, Victoriana, and cut-out figures. A worthy addition to Blake's outstanding portfolio of album cover art prints, and the beautiful editions of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, Sweet Child and Stanley Road.
