This impressive silkscreen print came out of the most unlikely of comebacks, and graced the cover of what was arguably Sean Ryder's greatest album, featuring Reverend Black Grape and Kelly's Heroes. Central Station Design who had been so important in shaping the visual language of the Happy Mondays, were called up again for this commission from MCA Records in Los Angeles: Shaun Ryder's reincarnation as Black Grape with It's Great When You're Straight...Yeah! Who better to explain the artwork than Central Station Design themselves? "Shaun has always been a man of many guises. We wanted to represent his talent for reinventing himself. As kids, we were fascinated by the face of 'Carlos the Jackal' and his many disguises, his giant square head a perfect shape for the cover. We wanted to incorporate the title of the album into the artwork, as it was such a great statement. We spent a long time working on the type, getting the feel right for the text, and making it fit the shape of the glasses." Each print is signed in pencil as "Central Station" by Matt, Pat or Karen.
