This limited edition silkscreen print leaps off the wall and squeezes your cheek. It's the really unique result of collaboration between Ian Dury and Storm Thorgerson for Dury's 1998 album, Mr Lovepants. Raconteur, humourist, art teacher, rock’n’roller and bon vivant Ian Dury employed Storm to design for an album called Different Strokes but he wasn’t very enamored with any of Storm's suggestions and dealt with this disappointment by telling his he’d changed that title to Mr. Lovepants at the last moment. "What do you think?" he asked with a big grin…. Storm recalled "As I walked down his front steps it struck me, literally between the eyes, that Mr. Lovepants was not human but a dog, a dog who panted heavily, namely a boxer who wore boxer shorts. Ho ho, job done. The shorts had to be anatomically designed as one might imagine, a boxer being ‘well hung’ as they say. Custom made shorts had to be worn on the beach in Bermuda, of course, as in Bermuda shorts and decorated with triangles as in Bermuda Triangle of course. All this word association was right up Mr Dury’s street." The edition was printed on a Somerset paper by the esteemed Coriander Studios in London, UK. Each print has been numbered and signed in pencil by Storm Thorgerson.
