About Skipping Sadhu - Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland

Skipping Sadhu is an archival inket print of album cover artwork designed by Storm Thorgerson for Shpongle. Shpongle combines musical styles from all over the globe and mixes vocals with contemporary western synthesizer based psychedelic music. For this album artwork, Skipping Sadhu, StormStudios travelled to Alwar in Rajasthan in India. "Because of the Indian tinge to some of the music, I suggested an idea set in India about a trainee Saddhu. The trainee Saddhu is endeavouring like a jumping yogi to levitate and float across a lake, like a skimming stone, bouncing from spot to spot, leaving in effect a trail of rippled circles across the water. When he gets older, and better, he will no longer need to bounce but will float. It means though that his arrival on the near shore is in a wet loincloth, dripping onto the stone floor below. The garden lake where the image is shot is situated in Anwar, about 100 miles from Delhi, en route to Jaipur." Every print in this edition has been signed and numbered by Storm Thorgerson.
